New Arriva Bus Service

 

Arriva, Milton Keynes’ leading bus operator, is delighted to announce the launch of Loop, a groundbreaking new bus service designed to connect key destinations across Milton Keynes. Commencing from Monday 6 January 2025, Loop represents the most significant expansion to the city’s transport network in over five years.

Buses will run up to every hour, six days per week from early until late. You can assess the timetable here: Timetable

Connecting communities like never before

The Loop’s innovative route will serve new destinations within Milton Keynes and enhances existing connectivity by allowing seamless travel across more of the city without the need to change buses. These destinations include:

•    Oakgrove
•    Kingston
•    Woburn Sands and Bow Brickhill
•    Caldecotte
•    The Open University
•    MK Hospital and Stadium MK
•    Bletchley
•    Furzton
•    Westcroft
•    Shenley Wood
•    Milton Keynes city centre

The service will operate in both clockwise and anticlockwise directions, with buses running up to every hour, Monday to Saturday. This new fixed-line route has been carefully designed to link residents to major shopping, education, work, and leisure hubs, providing seamless connectivity across the city.

Grant Palmer Service 134 

  

Grant Palmer currently run the 134 service into Milton Keynes from Woburn Sands on a Monday and a Friday (not Tues-Thurs). 

Rail

 

Woburn Sands Station is on the Marston Vale Line, a community rail line between Bletchley and Bedford, formerly part of the 'Varsity Line' between Oxford and Cambridge. An hourly service runs in each direction, Monday - Saturday, operated by London Northwestern Railway.

The nearest mainline stations are Milton Keynes Central (7 miles) and Bletchley (6 miles) on the West Coast line into London Euston, and Bedford (15 miles) and Flitwick (9 miles) on the East Midlands line into London St. Pancras. Demand Responsive Transport

Woburn Sands is now served by Demand Responsive Transport. 

This new ‘MK Connect’ service has replaced many of the routes that the Council currently pays for and is provided by Via.

Demand Responsive Transport is not restricted to previous timetables or routes and picks up passengers within 400m of their chosen location to close to their required destination point, when they want to travel.

If your journey can be fulfilled by the bus network, then the app will direct you to the bus.

The service operates:

6:00 am - 11:00 pm on Monday to Saturday

9:00 am - 6pm on Sunday

The quickest and easiest way to book is using the MK Connect app, available on the Play and Apple stores.

It is also possible to book online or by calling 01908 252526 during hours of operation.

Please note that the telephone line is not available between 9 - 10am on Wednesdays.

Additional support with registering and queries is available during Milton Keynes Council office hours otherwise the phone line will take bookings only.

Payment can be made by:

  • Connecting the app to a credit or debit card
  • Putting in your Milton Keynes concessionary pass number as a payment method to travel free after 9:30. The scheme will be extended to passes from other areas shortly, in the mean time please call the line to book if your concession is from elsewhere.
  • All In One Cards will be accepted for a £1 fare.
  • The MK Move Card Pay As You Go Purse can be used on vehicle payment but period passes for discounted travel are not valid on DRT.

Wheelchair accessible vehicles can be booked

Price: £3.50 during peak hours (7am-9am, 4.30pm-6.30pm), £2.50 at all other times.

Concessionary cards and All-in-One cards will be accepted on DRT at the same times as on buses.
