WELCOME TO WOBURN SANDS TOWN COUNCIL WEBSITE
Woburn Sands is a small, charming town in England that sits right on the border of Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, forming part of the Milton Keynes urban area while maintaining a distinctive semi-rural, village-like character.
It lies to the south-east of Milton Keynes, close to major road links like the M1 motorway and has its own railway station on the Bletchley–Bedford line, offering decent commuter connections.
Woburn Sands has a friendly, close-knit community with a thriving High Street full of independent shops, cafés, pubs and local services like a library, medical centre and churches—all within walking distance.
Historically it was a small hamlet once known as “Hogsty End”, and the more appealing name “Woburn Sands” was adopted in the Victorian era, connecting the place to nearby Woburn and the local sandy landscape.
The Town Council office is situated alongside the Memorial Hall on the High Street and is open to the public Monday to Thursday from 10am to 1pm.
