The Town Council meets at 7.30pm on the second Monday of each month, except August, at the Council Offices located behind The Memorial Hall. Agendas and minutes are available via the link provided.
Members of the public are welcome to attend and observe all public meetings. At the start of each meeting, there is a dedicated public participation session, giving residents the opportunity to raise issues or ask questions. If you wish to speak, it is advisable to review the agenda beforehand or contact the Clerk to check whether your matter is already included.
Please note that the Council can only make decisions on items that have been published on the agenda. While councillors endeavour to address all concerns raised by residents, matters requiring a formal decision may need to be deferred to a future meeting if they have not been included on the agenda.
The Annual Town Council Meeting takes place on the second Monday in May. At this meeting, the Mayor is elected, councillors confirm committee memberships, and the schedule of meetings for the coming year is agreed. This is a formal Town Council meeting and should not be confused with the Annual Town Meeting.
The Annual Town Meeting, hosted by the Town Council each year in April or May, is a meeting for residents rather than a council meeting. It provides an opportunity for the Town Council, local groups and community organisations to report on their activities over the previous year and share their plans for the future.
